Airbus sees Chilean carriers needing 160 aircraft in next 20 years

Airbus forecast (29-Mar-2012) Chilean carriers will need 164 100-seat plus aircraft over the next 20 years to meet forecast demand. The manufacture estimates the current market value of the aircraft at USD19.8 billion. Airbus Latin America and Caribbean EVP Rafael Alonso said: "Of the 15 largest countries in Latin America, Chile currently has largest GDP per capita, making it possible for their travel economy to grow at an impressive rate. In fact, by 2030, Santiago is expected to become one of the top hundred largest long-haul gateways with more than 10,000 daily passengers." [original - PR]
