airBaltic signs firm order for up to 20 CSeries aircraft

airBaltic announced (20-Dec-2012) it signed a firm order for 10 Bombardier CSeries CS300 aircraft with purchase rights for an additional 10 aircraft. The airline expects to take delivery of its first CSeries aircraft in 4Q2015. The Latvian carrier will operate the aircraft alongside its Q400 fleet which will see its entire fleet consisting of Bombardier aircraft. The firm order contract is valued at USD764 million at list prices but could increase to USD1.57 billion if the 10 purchase rights are converted to firm orders. airBaltic CEO Martin Gauss said, "A modern and efficient fleet is one of the fundamentals of the airline business and this order is a progressive and exciting move forward for us."
