AirAsia X reportedly to launch Kuala Lumpur-Nice service in 2010

AirAsia X reportedly plans to launch Kuala Lumpur-Nice service in 2010 and is considering other destinations in the region (The Star Online, 25-Sep-09). AirAsia CEO, Tony Fernandes stated the carrier believes there is strong demand for a service to Nice, but will not be launching the service "any time soon". According to Mr Fernandes, by operating to Nice, the carrier would be "really serving the whole of the south of France, a bit of Italy and Switzerland." Mr Fernandes added the carrier is not planning further capital raising exercises in the next two years.

AirAsia X: "Well, I think there's a huge amount of demand. That would be our first point of call. We've also got the whole of the south of France, you've got Geneva a couple of hours away and you've also got Milan," Tony Fernandes, CEO. Source: The Star Online, 25-Sep-09.
