AirAsia X expects to maintain Australia as around a third of its business

AirAsia X CEO, Asran Osman-Rani, speaking at the CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit, stated (07-Aug-2013) said the carrier sees "two main legs of growth" and expects to maintain Australia as one third to 35% of its business. The carrier has moved to double daily frequencies to destinations in the Australian market. One flight per day "doesn't work" for North Asian destinations and AirAsiaX is looking to expand some operations.
