AirAsia Indonesia will postpone its initial public offering until 2012 "due to global economic conditions", according to The Jakarta Post. The LCC announced plans in Mar-2011 for a public listing in 4Q2011, hoping to raise up to USD200 million. A company spokesperson was unable to provide details of when the IPO would be launched.

Southeast Asia’s aviation market recorded healthy growth in 2016, with passenger traffic expanding faster than the global average across nearly every country in the region. Southeast Asia is a region with enormous growth potential but a relatively cloudy outlook for airlines given the intense competition and overcapacity concerns. Demand is on the rise, boosted by a growing middle class, rising discretionary incomes and relatively strong economies.
