Air Zimbabwe sees Hainan Airlines as possible strategic partner

Air Zimbabwe is reportedly in talks with Hainan Airlines regarding a possible strategic investment by the Chinese carrier, following discussions between President Robert Mugabe and Hainan chairman Chen Wenli in Beijing (VOA News, 18-Nov-2011). "Hainan said they are still studying some aspects of the proposal and soon they should be able to define the nature of the relationship (with Air Zimbabwe)," Zimbabwe's Ambassador to China Frederick Shava, said, adding talks have been ongoing for some time.
