Air Transport Association welcomes moves to curb oil speculation

Air Transport Association stated (11-Dec-2009) welcomed moves to curb oil speculation with the House of Representatives' passage of the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2009.

Air Transport Association: "The action by the House of Representatives, especially Agriculture Committee Chairman Collin Peterson's amendment that gives the Commodity Futures Trading Commission authority to impose aggregate position limits across all markets, is a great first step toward putting a stop to excessive oil speculation.
