11-Dec-2009 The Air Transport Association Comments on the House of Representatives' Passage of the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2009.

The Air Transport Association of America (ATA), the industry trade organization for the leading U.S. airlines, commented on the House of Representatives' passing of the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2009.

"The action by the House of Representatives, especially Agriculture Committee Chairman Collin Peterson's amendment that gives the Commodity Futures Trading Commission authority to impose aggregate position limits across all markets, is a great first step toward putting a stop to excessive oil speculation. We understand, though, that a lot of hard work lies ahead for us, given Wall Street's continuing interest in opposing reform legislation."
