Air Niugini scheduled the first of its eleven A220 aircraft to arrive in Sep-2025 and planned to phase out its Fokker fleet and leased Boeing 737-800s through 2028, supported by funding from multiple export credit agencies and Azorra. The carrier also reviewed the purchase of two 787-8s and explored widebody bridging options as its Boeing 767-300 leases were set to expire in 20261 2.
