Air Niugini confirm previously unidentified order for four Boeing 737 MAX 8

Air Niugini announced (18-Feb-2016) an order for four Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft with delivery commencing from 2020. Air Niguini chairman Sir Frederick Reiher said: "The 737 MAX will enable us to increase flight frequencies and develop into new markets which offer significant opportunities." The order was previously unidentified. According to the CAPA Fleet Database, Air Niugini currently operate one Boeing 737-700 and two 737-800 alongside its fleet of two 767-300ER, three Bombardier Dash 8-200, four Dash 8-300, three Dash 8-400, four Fokker F70 and seven F100.
