Air New Zealand reports best results ever in 76 year history in FY2016

Air New Zealand revenue up 6% - financial highlights for 12 months ended 30-Jun-2016:

  • Operating revenue: NZD5231 million (USD3496 million), +6.2% year-on-year;
    • Passenger: NZD4481 million (USD299 million), +8.9%;
    • Cargo: NZD349 million (USD233 million), +10.1%;
    • Contract services: NZD172 million (USD115 million), -33.3%;
  • Operating costs: NZD4398 million (USD2939 million), +0.5%;
    • Labour: NZD225 million (USD818.6 million), +2.7%;
    • Fuel: NZD846 million (USD565.4 million), -22.3%;
  • Operating profit: NZD833 million (USD556.7 million), +52.0%;
  • Net profit: NZD463 million (USD309.4 million), +41.6%;
  • Passenger numbers: 15.2 million, +6.0%;
    • Domestic: 9.7 million, +5.2%;
    • Tasman and Pacific Islands: 3.5 million, +3.5%;
