Air New Zealand pax up 7% to 1.4m with 83% load factor in Jul-2016, group-wide yields down

Air New Zealand passenger numbers up 6.5% - traffic highlights for Jul-2016:

  • Passenger numbers: 1.4 million, +6.5% year-on-year;
    • Short-haul: 1.2 million, +6.0%;
    • Domestic: 852,000, +7.7%;
    • Tasman/Pacific: 331,000, +2.0%;
    • Long-haul: 173,000, +9.8%;
    • Asia: 68,000, +9.5%;
    • North America/UK: 105,000, +10.0%;
  • Passenger load factor: 82.5%, -1.0 ppt;
    • Short-haul: 79.4%, -0.4 ppt;
    • Domestic: 79.9%, +1.3 ppts;
    • Tasman/Pacific: 79.2%, -1.1 ppts;
    • Long-haul: 85.2%, -1.8 ppts;
    • Asia: 82.7%, -1.2 ppts;

Air New Zealand: "Short Haul passenger revenue per ASK (RASK)* decreased 6.0% while Long Haul RASK* decreased 11.9%.
