Air New Zealand downplays Japanese cancellations

Air New Zealand dismissed suggestions inbound tourist numbers from Japan had halved since the recent Christchurch earthquake (BusinessDay.co.nz, 04-Mar-2011). A spokesman said there had been cancellations of group bookings representing "several hundred" passengers since the earthquake for bookings over the next few months, but denied there had been any "material impact".
