Background ✨
Air India's domestic strategy involved a focus on connecting tier two and three cities, viewed as more profitable than metro routes due to less competition1. The airline aimed to increase its domestic market share to 30% within five years, supported by fleet expansion plans2 3. Economic growth in India, including an expanding middle class, has driven demand for air travel, particularly from non-metro cities4.
