Air India Express to launch domestic services next month

Air India Express reportedly announced plans to launch domestic services in Sep-2009, covering a domestic network of 24 destinations, with 161 services per week (Press Trust of India, 06-Aug-09).

Ministry of Civil Aviation: "In order to compete effectively with other domestic low fare carriers, and to get a share of the low fare market segment, Air India is considering a proposal to extend low fare services to some of the domestic routes also," Praful Patel, Minister for Civil Aviation.
