Air India earns USD8m per day as it spends USD12.7m

India's Civil Aviation Minister Vayalar Ravi, during Question Hour, stated Air India earns around INR360 million (USD8 million) per day from its operations and spends around INR570 million (USD12.7 million) (PTI, 09-Mar-2011). "We are paying compulsory payment abroad of Rs 16 crore and committed payment here in India is Rs 20 crore. But the total expenditure comes to about Rs 57 crore," he stated.
