Air India adds third upgraded 787-8

Air India, via its official Twitter account, announced (01-Aug-2026) "Our third upgraded Boeing 787-8 is now part of a fleet of 100+ new and upgraded aircraft".

Air India previously introduced its new cabin design on retrofitted Boeing 787-8s, featuring Elevate business class seating, RECARO premium economy/economy seats and Thales IFE, with the first refreshed aircraft delivered on 13-Apr-2026 as part of a planned cabin refresh for 26 787s.¹ ² Air India also took delivery of line-fit 787-9s in 2026, including a third aircraft configured with 296 seats across three classes.³
