Aerospace Industries Association seeks access to USD50bn infrastructure programme

Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President, Marion Blakey, stated US aviation and aerospace industries are requesting Congress for access to the USD50 billion in infrastructure assistance proposed by President Barack Obama earlier this week (Reuters, 09-Sep-2010). AIA has been in discussion with other industry groups about the prospect of financing for new cockpit navigation equipment required for air traffic modernisation.
