Aeroflot, Transaero and UTair are Russia's largest carriers in 2011

Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency reported (31-Jan-2012) traffic highlights for 12 months ended Dec-2011 for Russian carriers:

  • Top five airlines by passenger number:
    • Aeroflot – Russian Airlines
      • Passenger numbers: 14.2 million, +25.6% year-on-year;
      • Passenger load factor: 77.5%, +0.3 ppts;
    • Transaero
      • Passenger numbers: 8.5 million, +27.2%;
      • Passenger load factor: 82.9%, -0.8 ppts;
    • UTair
      • Passenger numbers: 5.8 million, +31.3%;
      • Passenger load factor: 73.1%, -3.9 ppts;
    • Siberia Airlines
      • Passenger numbers: 5.1 million, +6.1%;
      • Passenger load factor: 75.6%, -0.9 ppts;
    • Rossiya
      • Passenger numbers: 3.5 million, +15.1%;
      • Passenger load factor: 75.3%, stable.
  • Top five airlines by cargo volume:
    • AirBridgeCargo
      • Cargo volume: 364,948 tonnes, +17.1%;
      • Load factor: 70.6%, -2.3 ppts;
    • Aeroflot – Russian Airlines
      • Cargo volume: 160,596 tonnes, -1.7%;
      • Load factor: 62.2%, -1.0 ppts;
    • Volga-Dnepr Airlines
      • Cargo volume: 62,627 tonnes, -26.2%;
      • Load factor: 49.5%, -6.1 ppts;
    • Polet Airlines
      • Cargo volume: 53,165 tonnes, +7.6%;
      • Load factor: 40.5%, -1.1 ppts;
    • Transaero
      • Cargo volume: 51,349 tonnes, +27.9%;
      • Load factor: 63.3%, -4.5 ppts.
