ACI EUROPE projects economic value of single aviation market between UK and EU

ACI EUROPE emphasised (21-Mar-2017) the economic value of air traffic between the UK and EU. ACI EUROPE projected air traffic between the regions to account for:

• 270,000 jobs in the UK, associated with EUR15.4 billion of the country's GDP;
• 285,000 jobs in the EU's 27 member states, associated with EUR13.7 billion of the bloc's GDP.

ACI EUROPE DG Olivier Jankovec said: "This contribution depends not just on the freedom to fly and unrestricted market access for airlines, but also on a wide range of common rules... losing this integration between the UK and EU aviation markets is akin to putting an end to a relationship which creates tremendous value and brings extensive mutual benefits".
