ABS reports minor seasonally adjusted declines in arrivals and departures for Jun-2017

Australian Bureau of Statistics released (Aug-2017) its short term travel international arrivals and resident departures trends for Australia for Jun-2017:

  • Arrivals: 733,100, +6.3% year-on-year and +0.3% compared with May-2017. This followed monthly increases of 0.7% in Apr-2017 and 0.5% in May-2017. On a seasonally adjusted basis short-term visitor arrivals (725,700 movements) decreased 0.9% compared with May-2017 (732,100 movements). This followed a monthly increase of 4.9% in Apr-2017 followed by a monthly decrease of 2.0% in May-2017;
  • Departures: 850,700, +3.1% year-on-year and +0.4% compared with May-2017. This followed monthly increases of 0.6% in both Apr-2017 and May-2017. On a seasonally adjusted basis short-term resident departures decreased 2.3% compared with May-2017. This followed monthly increases of 5.1% in Apr-2017 and 1.8% in May-2017.
