AAPA airlines passenger numbers up 3.4% in May-2011

Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) reports (24-Jun-2011) the following international traffic highlights for its member airlines in May-2011:

  • Passenger numbers: 14.8 million, +3.4% year-on-year;
  • Passenger load factor: 73.6%, -0.3 ppt;
  • Cargo traffic (FTKs): -9.8%;
  • Cargo load factor: 68.8%, -3.9 ppts. [more]

AAPA: "Japanese outbound leisure traffic showed some welcome signs of recovery, as did business travel to and from Japan. However, inbound leisure traffic flows to Japan remain weak; it will take more time to fully restore public confidence," AAPA Director General, Mr Andrew Herdman.
