Direct News Source

Travelers demand greater flexibility and more choice. Therefore, TUI plans to change three routes, so that they will be operated by two external partners, Norwegian and Jettime. The airports affected by the changes are Malmö, Helsinki and Oslo. TUI is currently in dialogue with the relevant unions.

- In order to meet customer demand and to ensure a flexible and cost-effective solution, TUI will hire external airlines for TUI's shorter aviation districts, departing from Copenhagen, Helsinki and Oslo. These changes will not affect our travelers' bookings, "said Alexander Huber, Managing Director TUI Nordic.

If the proposal is accepted, short-haul routes from Copenhagen and Helsinki will be managed by Jettime while Norwegian Airlines handles flights from Oslo. As a consequence of the proposed changes, TUI will discontinue its bases in Malmö, Oslo and Helsinki.

TUI's long-haul routes continue to fly from all of the Nordic airports fleeing today. TUI has more than 150 aircraft in Europe and is one of the world's most carbon-efficient airlines. In the Nordic countries, TUI already offers a combination of half its own and half external air capacity.

" We believe it is still important to keep our own airline, but it needs to be more flexible and cost effective to meet the demands of our customers and from the various travel companies. Therefore, we are proposing a change today in the organization of the Nordic airline, "said John Murphy, Managing Director of TUI Northern Region Airlines.

The employees who may be affected by the decommissioning of the bases in Malmö, Oslo and Helsinki will be fully supported during this process. The effects of the change are under discussion, but about 150 employees may be affected. TUI for active dialogue with unions, negotiations began today.
