Tourism Infrastructure Fund supports 57 projects

Nationwide, 57 projects from Cape Reinga to Stewart Island and the Chatham Islands have received support from the latest round of decisions from the Tourism Infrastructure Fund (TIF).

The TIF funds important infrastructure where local communities are facing pressure from tourism growth and are in need of assistance.

A range of new facilities and upgraded visitor assets including wifi-connected smart bins, new and upgraded toilet facilities, car parking, wastewater systems and boat ramps have received funding.

Five South Island regions are prioritised to receive funding for projects in Queenstown, Mackenzie District, Kaikoura and South Westland.
