  • Thai Airways' has up-gauged its afternoon service from Melbourne to Bangkok by replacing its Boeing777-200 with an A350-900.
  • The A350-900 is the carrier's most technologically advanced aircraft featuring 11 to 16 inch high definition screens, increased seating space and more overhead cabin storage, panoramic windows and 20 per cent less aircraft noise.
  • Melbourne is the only Australian city to provide a connection on Thai Airways' A350-900.
  • The up-gauge boosts capacity by 224 seats into Thailand each week.
  • Thailand is currently the ninth most visited destination out of Melbourne overall.
  • According to the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources in the year ending June 2017 it's estimated that Victorians took 167,900 trips to Thailand, an increase of 5.4 per cent on the previous year.
