06-Sep-2016 Rolls-Royce welcomes Vietnam Airlines' Memorandum of understanding for 10 A350 XWB aircraft powered by Trent XWB

Rolls-Royce welcomes the decision by Vietnam Airlines to sign a memorandum of understanding for ten additional Airbus A350-900 aircraft, powered by the Trent XWB engine.

The Trent XWB is the world's most efficient large civil aero engine and more than 1,600 engines have already been sold to 43 customers. It powered the first A350 XWB aircraft into commercial service in 2015.

Vietnam Airlines became the world's second operator of the aircraft in June last year and already has 14 A350-900s in service and on order.

Eric Schulz, Rolls-Royce, President - Civil Aerospace, said: "We welcome this decision by Vietnam Airlines and the opportunity it brings for us to further develop our relationship with a valued customer that has already been a pioneer in bringing both the A350 and Trent XWB into service."
