Passenger numbers in September in Tegel far above the previous year's level: Tegel year-on-year only just behind 2017

In the current traffic report you will find the numbers for passengers, flight movements and airfreight for the September 2018 as well as the comparison to the same period of the previous year.

Traffic figures September 2018

• Passengers: In September 2018, 3,403,459 passengers took off and landed at Schönefeld and Tegel airports. This is an increase of 6.3 percent over the same month last year. From Schönefeld, 1,136,249 passengers flew in September (-2.8 percent), while in Tegel there were 2,267,210 passengers (+11.6 percent).

• Flight movements: The number of aircraft movements at Schönefeld and Tegel airports rose to 27,625 take-offs and landings in September 2018, an increase of 7.2 percent compared to September 2017. In Schönefeld, the number of flight movements rose to 9,676 (+6.3 Percent). In Tegel, the number of flight movements increased to 17,949 (+ 7.7 percent).

• Air Freight: Air cargo recorded 3,863 tonnes at Schönefeld and Tegel airports in September 2018, down 7.6% on September 2017. Airfreight in Schönefeld reached 1,071 tonnes (+30.9%). Air cargo in Tegel registered 2,792 tonnes (-17.0%).

Traffic figures January to September 2018

• Passengers: From January to September, 25,627,049 passengers flew from Schönefeld and Tegel. That is a minus of 1.3 percent compared to the same period last year. In Schönefeld started and landed 9,705,874 passengers (-0.2 percent). From Tegel 15,921,175 passengers flew (-1.9 percent).

• Flight movements: The number of flight movements in Schönefeld and Tegel increased to 216,582 take-offs and landings, an increase of 0.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. In Schönefeld, the number of flight movements increased to 80,221 (+4.4 percent). In Tegel there were 136,361 take-offs and landings (-1.7 percent).

• Air Freight: In total, 30,303 tonnes of airfreight were registered from January to September, down 24.1% on the same period last year. In Schönefeld, 8,922 tons of airfreight were handled (+33.2 percent), in Tegel it was 21,381 tons (-35.7 percent).
