Munich Airport: Passenger traffic up 2% in the first three quarters of 2012

From January through the end of September 2012, Munich Airport handled more passengers than ever before in the first three quarters of a calendar year. The approximately 29.2 million arriving and departing passengers represented an increase of more than 2 percent as compared with the same period a year earlier. At the same time, the average aircraft load factor rose to a new record of 75 percent, which represents a year-on-year improvement of 1.3 percentage points. That means that, on average, three quarters of all seats in planes arriving in or departing from Munich are booked. The 302,000 aircraft movements counted during the first three quarters of this year was 2.7 percent lower than the figure for the first nine months of 2011.
