Melbourne Airport welcomes additional Virgin flights to Los Angeles

20-Sep-2016 Melbourne Airport welcomes today's announcement that Virgin Australia will introduce five services each week between Melbourne and Los Angeles from April 2017. These additional services will help build on strong US-Victoria market growth, which reached a record of 789,000 passengers to the year ending 30 June. Over the past year, inbound passengers from the US through Melbourne Airport increased by 13 per cent. Additionally, Australian travellers to the US increased by seven per cent. Quotes attributable to Mr Simon Gandy, Melbourne Airport Chief of Aviation "Today's announcement by Virgin Australia is great news for Victoria, adding the capacity to bring more visitors from the US to Melbourne than ever before."
