LOT AND TURKISH AIRLINES WILL LAUNCH STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP TOWARDS FUTURE JOINT VENTURE

Recognizing the great significance of deepening the cooperation and desiring to create the most appropriate conditions for their development, both Turkish and Polish carrier have decided to implement a strategic partnership to make use of the possibilities to enhance benefits for their customers by offering them more connection alternatives and even better product. This will give passengers opportunity to travel with convenient stopover and one ticket only to even more destinations across the world.

Final model of cooperation has not been decided yet, however both airlines agreed to proceed towards future joint venture cooperation.

"LOT is ready to grow immediately as of 2016, and now is the best moment to strength equal cooperation with our key airline partners. LOT and Turkish Airlines have been partners for many years. I am convinced that this letter of understanding will help us to create unique and global offer. This will give our passengers all advantages of worldwide and supplementary networks of both carriers" - said Sebastian Mikosz, LOT Polish Airlines CEO.

"This strategic partnership between our airlines will enable both carriers to enhance their presence on their respective markets, while contributing their efficiency on the routes agreed within the scope of extended cooperation. Considering their membership to the same alliance group, one can say that such a strategic partnership will also benefit Star Alliance" added Temel Kotil Ph.D, CEO of Turkish Airlines.

Turkish Airlines and LOT have been codesharing on each other's flights on the route Istanbul-Warsaw v.v. since October 2000. The scope of codeshare agreement has been extended in 2014 with the inclusion of Turkish Airlines' flights on the routes Istanbul-Amman v.v., Istanbul-Cairo v.v. and Istanbul-Ankara v.v. and LOT Polish Airlines' flights on the routes Vienna-Warsaw v.v. and Warsaw-Krakow v.v.

With the expansion of the code share agreement, both airlines put its designator code to some selected flights of each other's beyond Istanbul and Warsaw to domestic destinations in Turkey and Poland, as well as to points in Africa, the Middle East and Asia, benefiting from the global networks of Turkish Airlines and LOT Polish Airlines.

Turkish Airlines and LOT Polish Airlines are currently operating five weekly flights respectively on Istanbul-Warsaw v.v. route.

LOT i Turkish Airlines rozwiną strategiczną współpracę handlową. Obie linie podpisały porozumienie, na bazie którego prowadzone będą wspólne analizy rynku i badania potencjału kolejnych połączeń, które obie linie mogłyby w przyszłości wspólnie oferować i obsługiwać. LOT i Turkish Airlines będą też rozwijać współpracę na połączeniach już objętych umową code-share.

Porozumienie jest początkiem strategicznego partnerstwa między przewoźnikami - określa warunki i kierunek rozwoju dalszej współpracy. Celem jest stworzenie wspólnej oferty cenowej i produktowej, tak by pasażerowie docelowo mogli w pełni korzystać z siatki połączeń obu linii. Dzięki temu z jednym biletem w dłoni i wygodną przesiadką będą mogli dotrzeć do jeszcze większej liczby miejsc na całym świecie.

Docelowo porozumienie między LOT-em i Turkish Airlines ma prowadzić do podpisania w przyszłości umowy joint venture.

Dzięki niej już wkrótce pasażerowie skorzystają w pełni ze światowej i uzupełniającej się siatki obu przewoźników" - powiedział Sebastian Mikosz, prezes LOT-u.

Obie linie są członkami Star Alliance, można więc powiedzieć, że inaugurujemy partnerstwo, na którym skorzysta cały sojusz" - dodał Tamel Kotil, Prezes Turkish Airlines.

LOT i Turkish Airlines od października 2000 roku łączy współpraca code-share na wszystkich rejsach pomiędzy Warszawą a Stambułem. W 2014 roku do umowy dołączyły rejsy między Stambułem a Ammanem, Kairem i Ankarą, oraz między Warszawą a Wiedniem i Krakowem.

Współpraca code-share obu przewoźników obejmuje też wybrane rejsy krajowe w Polsce i Turcji, oraz destynacje w Afryce, na Bliskim Wschodzie i w Azji.

Turkish Airlines i LOT na trasie Warszawa Stambuł obsługują obecnie po pięć rejsów tygodniowo.
