KUWAIT AIRWAYS RELEASES ITS ANNUAL SUSTAINABILITY REPORT 2022

Focuses on developing Environment, Social, Governance strategy and digital transformation activities

Kuwait Airways is proud to announce the release of its annual sustainability report for the year 2022, highlighting its commitment to the principles of sustainability, transparency, and corporate responsibility towards environment conservation, sharing their activities and events, in addition to digital transformation and keeping pace with the best work mechanisms of the air transport sector.

Kuwait Airways remains persistent, with world focus on environmental impact, in its dedication to reducing its carbon footprint, engaging with local and international communities, and maintaining the highest governance standards.

Kuwait Airways is the first state-owned company to have published a sustainability report showcasing its commitment towards sustainability. The report has been compiled and published to serve its purpose as a comprehensive outline of Kuwait Airways' efforts in sustainable development and responsible practices in the aviation industry.

Kuwait Airways has also recognized the significance of fostering a major involvement with communities in its social responsibility strategy and enhancing them through significant participation with society as an integral part of it. The initiatives launched by the company support fair opportunities and provide its necessary resources that contribute to achieving the required objectives.

Kuwait Airways' Chief Executive Officer, Eng. Maen Razouqi stated, "The Blue Bird, through active monitoring and initiatives to increase our assets utilizations and network improvements, has year over year reduced carbon emissions per passenger by more than 30%."

Razouqi added, "As we look to the future, we remain committed to our Environment, Social, Governance strategy, prioritizing sustainability, social responsibility, and strong governance. By maintaining these pillars, the company will achieve its objectives of reaching extensive horizons of excellence, continuous success and achievements and contribute significantly to its eminent position. Razouqi stated, "Kuwait Airways is continuing with its strategic objectives formulated by the Board of Directors until 2030, pursuing to develop the entire operational system and digital transformation."

On his part, the Head of Transformation, Eng. Naser Nizar Al-Towaijri stated, "The report highlights Kuwait Airways' strategy in achieving an environmental-friendly future while maintaining operational integrity, such as reducing carbon emissions through a modernized state-of-the-art fleet, engine options, and waste management initiatives."

Al-Towaijri added, "In 2022, Kuwait Airways participated in over 30 engagements with local communities through partnerships with NPOs, event sponsorships in art, sports, education, and charitable support."

Al-Towaijri concluded, "Kuwait Airways will continue to focus on sustainability in accordance with international standards to achieve benefit, in the interest of the Blue Bird and in line with its development plan until 2035."
