Heathrow: July 2016 traffic and business commentary

Direct News Source

Heathrow welcomed a record 7.44 million passengers in July (up 2.1% over the previous July). Sunday 31st July was the busiest single day ever at Heathrow with 258,028 passengers

Within emerging markets, passenger volumes were strong to the Middle East & Central Asia (+13.1%), Mexico (+13%) and China (+9%) in part as a result of higher load factors

Larger, quieter aircraft were also a driver for growth in passenger volumes as carriers continued to benefit from new aircraft including A380s deployed by British Airways, Emirates, Etihad, Korean, Thai and Qatar as well as a record number of Dreamliners

Cargo volumes grew 2.6% in July, with strong growth to Turkey (+9.4%), China (+9%) and Latin America (+4%)
