Fiji Airways Statement #4

Direct News Source

Issued 10pm 12 March 2019

Fiji Airways, in compliance with the directive by Australia's Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA), has suspended all Boeing 737 MAX 8 operations to/from Australia. While Fiji Airways is confident in the airworthiness of our Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft and our robust training programme, we respect CASA's position. As such, we will be changing the aircraft type operating to/from Sydney, Brisbane. Melbourne and Adelaide until further advised. Some schedule changes are likely and affected customers will be notified. We will continue to monitor the situation closely, and remain in constant contact with all relevant state regulators and authorities. The safety of our passengers and crew is, and always will be, our number one priority.
