Commenting on the UK Prime Minister's address to the nation, Johan Lundgren, easyJet CEO, said:

"We welcome the Prime Minister's announcement which set out the Government's intention for a safe and sustainable return to international travel as soon as possible.

"We look forward to working with Government and their taskforce to be able to safely and progressively roll back restrictions and return people to the skies.

"The announcement will provide consumers with much-needed reassurance that travel will reopen. We know there is pent up demand to travel and easyJet is ready and able to ramp up flights when international travel begins again to take our customers away to see friends and family or on long-awaited holiday breaks this summer.

"And crucially customers can book with confidence as never before have we provided so much flexibility for customers. Our Protection Promise means that customers can book with confidence knowing that if they are unable to travel or their plans change so can their flights or holiday. And unlike other airlines we will offer customers refunds if they are impacted by a travel ban, even if their flight is not cancelled, which is industry leading."
