Direct News Source

Following the New Zealand Prime Minister's announcement that the Auckland region will remain in Alert Level 3 and the rest of the country in Level 2 until 11:59pm on Wednesday 26 August, the amendments below have been made to our domestic New Zealand schedule and Flexibility Policy.

The Flexibility Policy applies to any changes made to domestic New Zealand bookings for travel between 12-27 August 2020.

Hold the ticket in credit:

As per the COVID-19 credit policy (the credit is available for rebooking by 31 December 2021 for travel by 31 December 2022).

Book the same or next best available booking class.
If the customer wishes to rebook their flights for travel from 28 August 2020 the following applies:
One date change is permitted with the change fee waived.
If the same booking classes are not available on the customer's preferred flights then fare differential applies.
If the same booking classes are available then no fare differential applies.
Refund:
Normal refund rules apply.
From today, Tuesday 18 August, a reduced domestic schedule will operate to and from Auckland (we will continue to operate as normal for the majority of our airports).

Auckland connections:
Christchurch - 13 weekly return flights
Gisborne - 3 weekly return flights
Kerikeri - 7 weekly return flights
Napier - 3 weekly return flights
Palmerston North - 3 weekly return flights
Tauranga - 3 weekly return flights

The new Auckland schedule will be progressively rolled out into your GDS.

Please note social distancing requirements onboard limits the ability to make new bookings or will require us to make cancellations to both ticketed and un-ticketed bookings. If you require a seat to get a passenger home, please waitlist ONE flight only. The best place for information about who can travel under Alert Level 2 and 3 is the New Zealand Ministry of Transport website

Process for compassionate travel to Australia

To book urgent (within 10 days of travel) compassionate travel inbound to Australia, please follow the process below:

Create a PNR for the travellers
Book next available date in the GDS
Waitlist preferred travel date
Email Agency Sales Support with the PNR details for review
Please note due to government capacity restrictions availability is heavily restricted for travel into Brisbane, therefore, it is unlikely that we can confirm any seats within the next 10 days.

Sydney is currently the best option for travellers needing to travel to Australia, so this will be reviewed at the time of your request.
