Capacity limitations for international travel
We continue to work with New Zealand and Australian Governments to align passenger flows with available quarantine facilities for the required 14-day period. International arrivals into New Zealand
- We have extended the hold on new bookings until 9 August 2020 to ensure we comply with the government's rolling 14-day quota. We will continue to manage availability going forward.
International arrivals into Australia
- While government restrictions are in place until 8 August 2020, we are placing a hold on future bookings until 28 August 2020 to help prevent disruptions should these restrictions be extended.
If you have customers with onward travel booked on a separate ticket, we request that you enter a free format OSI with the other airline's flight information. Please note, all onward travel is still required to meet government transit restrictions. Exemptions are to be arranged before travel as advised on the relevant countries Government COVID-19 website.
We are managing government restrictions around border controls via O&D for travel through to 24 October 2020 to align with our international schedule. Please follow O&D logic when making bookings to avoid customers being denied travel when they arrive at the airport.
An example of this is as follows:
- SYD-AKL-PMR no longer shows as an option in the GDS due to passengers needing to quarantine in Auckland for 14 days.
- AKL-SYD-PER no longer shows as an option in the GDS due to passengers needing to quarantine in Sydney for 14 days.
If this itinerary is booked separately and/or out of O&D sequence and this ticket is issued, the customer will be denied travel at the airport.
If customers have a flight booked to New Zealand or Australia within the next month and no longer wish to travel, we encourage you to cancel their booking to free up space for other returning passengers. Agents with impacted customers will be contacted by Agency Sales to discuss options.
