Allegiant Announces Formation of Allegiant Systems

01-Oct-2012 Allegiant (Nasdaq:ALGT) announced today the formation of Allegiant Systems, a joint venture with AvIntel and Lixar IT, in a move to continue its market-leading position within airline automation.

"We feel that the combination of these organizations brings unique capabilities to the industry, and we are excited about being a part of something that could revolutionize airline technology strategies."

Allegiant Systems, or "G4 Systems", is organized to provide a wide variety of mobile technology services to the commercial aviation industry. Allegiant System's will initially provide Allegiant Air and other airlines with Software-as-a-Service (SAAS) solutions. The cloud-based model will provide software which assists airline operations in a number of areas, including Electronic Flight Bag (EFB), In-Flight operations including Buy-on-Board, and cabin crew automation.

The relationship with Lixar will provide clear advantages to Allegiant Systems' products.

"We specialize in mobility and big data solutions in automotive and air," said Bill Syrros, CEO of Lixar IT. "Our previous work in mobility, combined with the knowledge base of AvIntel and Allegiant gives us a head start in aviation operational technology."

Andrew Kemmetmueller, previously the Managing Director of AvIntel, has been named as Chief Executive of the organization and brings over a decade of experience working with domestic and international airlines.
