Papua New Guinea's most anticipated aviation moment became a reality on Monday 15th September 2025, when Air Niugini's very first Airbus A220-300-proudly known as The People's Balus-touched down at Jackson's International Airport, Port Moresby, at 10am. The historic landing coincided with the country's 50th Independence Anniversary, a fitting milestone for both the national flag carrier and the country.
