Working with Profiles
Every profile within the CAPA system is assigned a "type" - this denotes what kind of a profile it is. It could be an airline, airport, country, lessor, MRO entity, supplier, government body... there's a lot to choose from. When referencing any profile, you will need to know its profile ID and type ID in order to pull down the correct data. For example, if you were looking up Qantas Airways you'd use a Profile ID of 503 and Type ID of 1. The current profile type IDs are listed below. Crossed-out ones are no longer used.
|16||New Airports (aka. airports that are under construction)|
|18||Air Traffic Management|
|21||Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO)|
There are two levels of "region" within the CAPA system. The first is regions, which are groupings of countries in the same geographic area. The second is metaregions, which are groupings of regions in the same geographic area. For example, a region may be Western Europe and contain Western European countries, but a metaregion of Europe would contain a region of Western Europe.
To search for a profile ID, use the Search for a Profile ID call. This will return the ID and type you'll need to use to reference the profile. These values can be cached as they do not change.
