About

Founded in 1964, Intelsat S.A. is a satellite communications and terrestrial network services provider headquartered in Luxembourg. In 1965, it was the first company to establish a commercial satellite communications system, providing the public an avenue to communicate instantly, reliably and simultaneously from all corners of the world. Intelsat is part of Intelsat Limited.

Intelsat acquired Gogo Commercial Aviation in Dec-2020 and announced in Jul-2021 that Gogo Commercial Aviation is now called Intelsat.

SES agreed to acquire Intelsat through the purchase of 100% of the equity of Intelsat Holdings for a cash consideration of USD3.1 billion and certain contingent value rights. The deal is subject to relevant regulatory clearances and filings, as well as customary provisions, which are expected to be received during 2H2025. The combined SES will continue to be headquartered and domiciled in Luxembourg, while maintaining significant presence in the US.
