Within the aviation industry, Inmarsat is among the most widely used satellite operators in the industry. Inmarsat technology enables a diverse range of applications for both the cockpit and the cabin - from safety communications, weather and flight plan updates, to email, internet and phone services.
On 25-May-2023, Viasat announced the European Commission unconditionally approved the company's acquisition of Inmarsat. The transaction is expected to close by the end of May-2023.
