About
Avolta (formerly Dufry AG) is a leading global travel retailer operating more than 1,600 duty-free and duty-paid shops in airports, cruise lines, seaports, railway stations and downtown tourist areas. Dufry agreed to acquire 100% of fellow airport retailer, The Nuance Group, for a consideration of CHF1.55 billion (EUR1.27 billion) in 2014. Dufry continued its expansion with the acquisition of Benetton family's 50.1% stake in World Duty Free (WDF) for EUR10.25 per share in 2015. The company rebranded and launched a new logo in Jan-2017 to reflect the integration of Nuance and World Duty Free. Dufry Limited is publicly listed in Switzerland and Brazil.
Dufry and Edizione closed the transfer of Edizione's 50.3% state in Autogrill to Dufry on 03-Feb-2023. Edizione is now the largest shareholder of Dufry with a stake of approximately 27.5%. Dufry completed its business combination with Autogrill in Aug-2023, having acquired 100% of Autogrill shares and delisted Autogrill from the Italian Stock Exchange in Jul-2023. Dufry rebranded as Avolta in Nov-2023, representing the combination of Dufry and Autogrill.
