Established in 1977, the Autogrill Group operates almost exclusively in three business segments: catering ("Food & Beverage" or "F&B"), airport retail ("Travel Retail & Duty Free" or "TR&DF"), and the provision to airlines of products and services for catering and on-board retail ("Flight”). Autogrill was privatised by the Italian Government in 1995 and acquired Host Marriott Services (renamed HMSHost) in 1999. The company acquired 50% of Spanish-based airport duty-free retailer Aldeasa in 2005 and the remainder in 2008. The integration of Alpha's operations was completed in 2008. Autogrill is currently active in 42 countries.
