About
Trebinje Airport is a new airport for Trebinje in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The construction work was scheduled to commence in 2Q2021.
Apr-2022. Bosnia and Herzegovina Minister of Communications and Transport Vojin Mitrovic said construction of Trebinje Airport is "impossible" without a signed memorandum between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia. Mr Mitrovic added that the Ministry is proposing the formation of a working group to draft a memorandum and commence negotiations, pending Government approval.
Dec-2020. Serbia's Ministry for Construction, Transport and Infrastructure announced the construction of Trebinje Airport will launch at the beginning of 2Q2021. The project will be jointly implemented by Serbia and Republika Srpska and is expected to represent investment of RSD5 billion (EUR42.5 million). The Ministry also noted it hopes to attract "more serious investments" for the project during 2021.
Sep-2020. Serbia's President Aleksandar Vučić reported the proposed new airport located in Trebinje, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, will open for commercial traffic in Mar-2022, with Serbia to fund its construction. "I believe the project will be profitable and of long term strategic importance for Serbia, Herzegovina, part of Montenegro and the Sarajevo-Romanija region", Mr Vučić continued.
