About

Suifenhe Airport is a new airport development project that will serve the city of Suifenhe, a county-level city in southeastern Heilongjiang province, China. The city is on the China/Russia border and situated adjacent to the Russian town of Pogranichny, Primorsky Krai. The airport is part of Heilongjiang province's plans to invest CNY3 billion (USD481.2 million) into airports in the region.


Sep-2021. Suifenhe Airport completed the operation of test flights on 16-Sep-2021, in preparation for commencing operation by the end of 2021. Works to develop the airport commenced in Oct-2017 and were completed in Aug-2021.

Aug-2021. Suifenhe Airport is on track to complete development works by the end of Aug-2021. Works to develop the airport commenced in Oct-2017 and will require an estimated investment of CNY1.5 billion (USD231.5 million). Suifenhe is equipped with a 2500m runway and is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2021.

Jul-2021. Suifenhe Airport is scheduled to undertake test flights on 05-Aug-2021 and issue its notice of navigation on 13-Sep-2021. The airport is expected to officially open by the end of 2021.

Nov-2020. Suifenhe Airport is on track to complete primary structure works for its passenger terminal and air traffic control tower (ATC) facilities by the end of 2020. Works to develop the airport commenced in Oct-2017 and are expected to be completed and the airport commissioned in 2021. The project will require an estimated investment of CNY1.5 billion (USD223.7 million).

May-2020. Suifenhe Airport resumed development works on 27-Feb-2020 following a temporary suspension due to the outbreak of coronavirus. The airport is on track to be completed and commissioned by 2021.

Jun-2019. Suifenhe Airport plans to commence operation by the end of 2021. The airport construction is slated for completion by 2020.

Oct-2017. Suifenhe Airport recently officially commenced construction, with toal investment of CNY1.2 billion (USD174 million). The airport is designed with annual capacity to handle 450,000 passengers, 3600 tonnes of cargo and 4788 aircraft movements.

Oct-2016. China's Suifenhe City government broke ground on the expressway for the proposed Suifenhe Airport on 15-Oct-2016, with construction for the airport itself expected to commence "soon". The project is estimated to cost CNY1.2 billion (USD178 million) with the airport to feature a 2500m x 45m runway, 4500sqm terminal and four aircraft parking bays. The airport is design to accommodate 450,000 passengers, 3600 tonnes and 4800 aircraft movements p/a.

Feb-2015. Suifenhe Airport announced that its pre-feasibility study report recently received approval from China’s state council. The airport will constructed according to a 4C category airport, with a 2500m runway, 4500sqm terminal building and a four aircraft parking bay apron. The airport sets 2025 as its target year to achieve annual capacity to handle 450,000 passengers and 3600 tonnes of cargo.
