Ras Al Hadd Airport

Ras Al Hadd Airport was expected to be operational in 2014 and is intended to support eco-tourism projects on Oman's east coast. The airport will have capacity of 500,000 passengers p/a and parking stands for six aircraft. The opening is now tentatively set for end-2018.
Dec-2014. Oman Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) announced it conducted operational tests of Ras Al Hadd Airport's runway lighting systems, as well as assessing the runway’s conformity with international standards.
Dec-2013. The Ministry of Transport and Communications cancelled a tender for the selection of a contractor for the construction of a terminal at the proposed Ras Al Hadd Airport. A reason for the cancellation was not reported.
