About
Punta Huete International Airport is an airport development project that will serve the municipality of San Francisco Libre, Nicaragua. The airport is being constructed by China CAMC Engineering Co with construction due to be completed by the end of 2029.
Feb-2024.
15-Feb-2024. Nicaragua's Government and China CAMC Engineering signed a CNY2.87 billion (USD402.95 million) financing credit agreement for the construction of Punta Huete Airport. The credit agreement is made up of two tranches of CNY1.44 billion (USD202.18 million), with a project execution period of between four and five years.
15-Feb-2024. Nicaragua's Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Óscar Mojica said construction of Punta Huete International Airport will commence in 2H2024.
Oct-2023.
26-Oct-2023. Nicaragua's Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Oscar Mojica stated Punta Huete International Airport will feature a 3600m runway.
18-Oct-2023. Nicaragua's Government awarded China CAMC Engineering Co a contract for the construction of Punta Huete International Airport. The infrastructure will have capacity to handle 3.5 million passengers p/a.
