Sep-2024. Thailand's Phatthalung Chamber of Commerce chairman Kittiphit Klapkhun said a a 1496rai plot of land has been selected as the site for Phatthalung Airport. Mr Klapkhun said a meeting took place to discuss the new airport, which was also attended by representatives from Thai AirAsia, Nok Air and Thai Lion Air. The airport project aims to improve travel for locals and tourists heading to and from Phatthalung and nearby districts in Songkhla and Nakhon Si Thammarat. Construction is expected to take 10 years and will likely commence in 2026. A study conducted from 2020 to 2021 found the airport could welcome around 214,129 passengers p/a and 28 flights per week.
