The Jataí Airport project is a proposed new airport construction for the Brazilian city of Jataí, in southern Goiás state. Brazil's Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SAC) confirmed (18-Jun-2014) plans to construct the new airport at Jataí as part of the Government's logistics investment program. The facility will be built on a 1.4 million sqm plot of land, though no specific details were reported on the airport's specifications or the fate of the current Jataí Airport. 


Mar-2024. Brazil's Ministry of Ports and Airports authorised a BRL58.5 million (USD11.66 million) investment into the development of a new airport in Jatai, located in the state of Goias. The airport is set to enhance tourism in the Central-Western region of Brazil and facilitate the transportation of passengers and cargo to expand the region’s commercial activities. The project will be funded by the National Civil Aviation Fund (FNAC), with the municipality contributing 30% of the project’s total project value. Construction is expected to be completed within 14 months of the start date.

Apr-2022. Brazil's Ministry of Infrastructure announced construction of New Jataí Airport will start in Jun-2022. The BRL46.5 million (USD9.99 million) project will include construction of runway and taxiway and installation of navigation equipment, with completion scheduled for 2023.

Aug-2017. Brazil Civil Aviation Secretary Dario Lopes announced resumption of the project to build New Jatai Airport. The greenfield airport is budgeted at BRL50 million (USD15.7 million). Construction will commence in the end of 2017. Ground levelling works is completed.
