In Jun-2013 Airports Authority of India (AAI) approved the site for the proposed airport at Jakranpally in Nizamabad district, but increased their land requirement from 1200 to 1500 acres to ensure there was sufficient space for development of necessary infrastructure. The cost of construction (undisclosed) will be completely borne by the State governments. However, they could involve private persons and corporates.
